Maria Gazin
Personal Trainer
My first love was yoga. I began practicing with my mom in our living room every day and night when I was 12 years old. It taught me the power of movement, meditation, and planted the seed for what would become a deep passion for physical and mental health.
When I moved to Austin in 2009, I began my personal fitness journey. I fell in love with power lifting, kickboxing, Olympic weight lifting, and running — as well as the sense of pride and strength, both physical and mental, that resulted from exercising.
In 2017 I became certified as a personal trainer. I knew I wanted to help people find what I had found through physical fitness, but I had no idea how much of a passion I would develop. Then I started to realize I wanted to do more for my clients than just guide them on their fitness journey. I wanted to help people eliminate chronic pain. I wanted to help people recover from injury and prevent future injuries. I wanted to help people move in ways they never thought possible or thought they had lost forever.
In 2021 I went back to school to earn a bachelor’s degree in exercise and sports science at Texas State University. I had the opportunity to intern at a physical therapy outpatient clinic for the last semester of my degree where I learned so much about how to help people recover from injury and live pain free. I graduated summa cum laude in May of 2024 with a concentration in clinical exercise science.
I’ve built and maintained amazing relationships with my clients, all of whom have been training with me for over five years. I don’t follow a one-size-fits-all approach, but it’s always backed by science. I believe movement should be enjoyable, fulfilling, and I’ll never force you to do something you don’t want to do.
My goal is to help people find their way to a balanced, pain-free, and truly healthy lifestyle by providing education, empowerment, support… and probably some laughs.
